What is the JLDN National Lightning Observation Network?

We conduct accurate and reliable lightning observations in real-time, 24 hours a day.

JLDN (Japanese Lightning Detection Network) is a nationwide lightning observation network operated by Franklin Japan. It consists of 31 sensors from Hokkaido to Okinawa, creating an observation network that seamlessly covers all of Japan. Franklin Japan observes lightning across the entire country of Japan through the world-class lightning observation network JLDN. It is possible to obtain stable and high-precision lightning data over a wide area. The "Activ Werther Mix" is a product that observes multiple weather information with a single unit, allowing users to simultaneously view the observed data and on-site images on ActivNet. Temperature, humidity, wind direction, average wind speed (10-minute average), maximum instantaneous wind speed, WBGT, and other latest weather information are displayed as precise values.
